HOME ENERGY EFFICIENCY
One system. Year-round comfort. Lower energy bills. Here’s everything you need to know.
WHAT IT IS
A heat pump is an electric system that moves heat from one place to another — rather than burning fuel to create it. In winter, it pulls warmth from the outdoor air (even in cold temperatures) and brings it inside. In summer, it reverses, pushing warm air out to cool your home. The result: one device that handles heating and cooling with remarkable efficiency.
Because they move existing heat rather than generate it, heat pumps can deliver 2–4× more energy than they consume — making them one of the most efficient home comfort systems available today.
HOW IT WORKS
01 Absorb outdoor heat
Refrigerant in the outdoor unit absorbs heat from the air — even when it’s cold outside.
02 Compress & intensify
A compressor raises the refrigerant’s temperature, concentrating the heat energy.
03 Deliver to your home
The indoor unit releases that heat into your living space through ducts or air handlers.
04 Reverse in summer
The cycle flips — heat is pulled out of your home and expelled outside to cool you down.
